Ok, for this upcoming Friday Night Fracas: Game of S.K.A.T.E. tournament with the champ getting a deck from PREMIER. …. and there is a bounty for nollie laserflip back 5050 on the curb, first to land that gets a premier blank deck. free to enter contest, lets have some fun!
Smooth blacktop approach and landing. A decent size, in the 10-12 stair realm. Right there on Aurelius, you will see the beautiful baby blue beast parked in the upper lot. Its a beauville, i think. or whatever the conversion edition of that van was… Unaware of ABD’s on this, i know i havnt done shit on it. *Heres the link to map* oh yeah Sabu from wrestling lives on this street.
all of the many stairways leading up to ottawa plaza have had new handrails put in or are in the process of. on all four sides of ottawa plaza (an elevated office plaza boxed in by pine st, allegan, ottawa, and walnut). theyre new, round and burly. new run ups and landings too. theres a ton of em and up in the plaza, theres still about a hundred plastic picnic tables and benches up there. *skate it after 5pm or weekends.*
rite downtown Lansing. heres the googlemaps of it.
Another Lansing spot got its ticket punched, RIP doo doo bars aka dooky rails. Though painted several different colors through out the ages, sliding these fat flatbars always resulted in big, brown shit stains on your skateboard. The storefront has held a barber shop, a karate school, a tattoo shop, and largely sat empty, but it was on the watch of the current Weed Store tenants when these skidmarkers got yanked. (stolen by scrap metal fiends? relocated by skaters? or damned because people too high kept opening the door to leave Weed’s Emporium, and then stumbled repeatedly over these knee height fatsos? We may never know.) ..You will be missed, See ya when i get there, buddy…
Its a nine or a ten stair on Lansing’s Eastside, *heres the map*. Its right at the curve on eureka. Eureka street was a real popular little stretch for the workin gals, someone’s solution was to cut the street in half so johns couldnt cruise it in one shot. Prostitution solved!
On the sexual assault jogging path under Clemens st., park at Ralph F. Crego Toxic Waste Site/ City Park if youre driving. (bring all valuables with you if parked, or leave windows down. swamp infested with toxic bumfolk who love busting car windows). Its tall, its wood, but it slides good and those fortunate to have newer trucks have gotten this thing to grind. A bank backside for regular footers in the run up for line options. *this spot on the google map*
We got Lansing Aaron popping into a feeble from half cab board maybe? Those texas boys talk it a little different. A great skate photo by Tom “dont ask about my scarf” Wright. * Lansing D.I.Y. spots featured on this list will NOT be accompanied by a map. Go build your own, easier and way cheaper than you think.*
Right downtown (washtenaw and townsend) near a ton of other street spots. Theres some brick banks at this spot also, we always just ollied up the tiny gap at the bottom, the new dudes are getting fancy with a sign, heres the map*
This ledge shares a parking lot with the more popular brown LSJ ledges (1st spot featured on this list). this one starts off about as tall as those, but slants down to real low, and has an end on it. *Heres the map*….. a decent winter spot, this lot is plowed constantly. (lots of salty stoprocks in the winter tho, but you have 58’s on your street rig anyways so you will be ok. or pushbroom yourself a little path dummy)
This is turning into an Anthony J. Williams fan blog? Heres ten to jump off. Near other shit. This is the link to a map.
